The DIU (Digital Inclusion Unit) have been supporting this product in North Lincolnshire for over a year. It has enabled groups and schools to build a website and use it productively. Currently using the system in North Lincs there are 80 community groups using it.
You can have your own autonomous website but also be included in a local a-z of community website as well as being included in a national A-Z too.
This helps raise people's awareness of groups and communities also enables them to join communities and get regular update notices if they are changed (you have to register for this service).
The DIU provides support and a 2 hour basic training course on how to use the system.
